Om evenemanget
We are proud winners of the 360° Eat Guide, category Experience.
motivation of the jury:
"An adventure in the woods and on the water that is - in all its simplicity - education, unforgettable, and very relevant in these times. It all culminates with dinner over an open fire, which gives you, as a participant, a strong sense of calm and reflection".
A food journey through the wilderness, using all your senses
Welcome to Sweden’s most accessible wilderness, just 50 minutes from Stockholm.
Enjoy a guided canoe tour on ancient waterways used by the Vikings on their way to the important trading centre of Birka. Magnificent Bronze Age barrows are visible on the cliffs surrounding the lakes.
The Marviken lakes were created by a volcanic eruption 250 million years ago, resulting in the faults (fractures in the crystalline basement) that have given this area its unique character.
Reaching a depth of 65 metres and with cliffs rising out of the water to a height of 60 metres, the lakes are the perfect place to see and have experiences among Sweden’s wild animals. The area is a treasure trove for nature lovers and cultural history enthusiasts alike.
The day combines walking, canoeing and experiences for all the senses amidst the nature of Södermanland. We will also share the pleasure of sitting around a fire.
Press the pause button, and take the chance to relax and recharge.
The package includes all food and drink, plus canoe equipment such as paddles and life jackets.
We prioritise seasonal local ingredients, cooked over an open fire. And, of course, we strive to make all aspects of our business sustainable.
